Enough Already: on the google rumor
While I agree it's true that surfers tend to scan instead of fully read and comprehend net articles, and also agree that it may be a bad thing. I decided to report on the rumor on the off chance that there is someone at Google that is really considering it, IMO it's best to amass the army now instead of waiting until it's implemented. Maybe all the venom can serve to prevent Google from contemplating it?
I can't help but wonder what would have happened if there was more of an outcry about Florida's voting system _before_ the 2000 vote? I know there were some, but few bothered with it.
I did learn two things though:
There are many netizens that hate blogs, I don't know what to think of this. There were many anti-weblog posts in the /. thread and at search-engine-world-forums It scares me that so many discount personal sites in favor of big corporate ones. I think the personal home page is, or should be, the backbone of the net.
I also learnt that the first few lines of a blog entry are very important, would the story have taken off as it did if we would have lead off with something like "Dork spreads BS again"?
