Remembering Jackie This has been a heavy week. Jackie Reinach Neutra died his past Saturday, on Rosh Hashonah, two weeks past her 70th birthday.
Jackie was an ace. She loved people, especially kids. She wrote songs for them (too few on the Web) and won an Emmy Award along the way. She was also the wife and loving companion of our good friend Dion Neutra, the Los Angeles architect and son of the famous Richard Neutra.
Jackie was also from L.A., but lived in New York for many years and was deeply involved in the creative world there. She met Dion online early in the last decade, and the two have been a terrific bi-coastal couple ever since. I'm glad I had the privilege of getting to know Jackie, and only wish I had time to get to know her better.
It's hard to imagine the world without such a strong and loving creative force. Fittingly, there will be memorial services on both coasts. (Right now it looks like Joyce and I will make the one in New York.) Details are on Jackie's memorial page at the Neutra.org site.
