There are several issues here, as far as I can tell. The news of the Flash player vulnerability was published by Macromedia at the same time the player was released. There have been several other vulnerabilities uncovered on the Flash players in the past. The question in my mind is; would it have been better if Macromedia made people aware of the vulnerability earlier - and what could have been done about it at that point? Regarding blogs not picking up on it, that is simply not true. I am not so sure.
