Sony ICF-2010
The ICF-2010 was indeed the best all-band portable ever. I love mine so much that I bought two and keep one in the box. It was my main rig for something like seven years, until I bought a Drake R8. If you see a 2010 available new, grab it. The Grundig Satellit 800 is an excellent radio too, particularly since they've shaken out the build quality problems. Don't you have one of those, Doc? Then again, it's only portable for suitably expansive definitions of "portable". There's a get-together of shortwave listeners this weekend just outside Philadelphia. Should be interesting with talk about where to listen to the war. There's also going to be the first ever demonstration of digital shortwave radio in North America there.
