Maybe they should rename it Earthcall
The hotel is beautiful. We're in the room on the lower right, with a large patio (not just a balcony) overlooking the trees. Gorgeous view of the Alps over Lake Vierwaldwhatever.
The only bummer is my inability to connect with any of the published Earthlink numbers in Switzerland. The modem connects but fails to find a network on the other side. My sister in D.C. waited an hour on hold with tech support to be told the approximately the same numbers I have here, and no other help. Of course I don't have an hour to call the states and wait on hold.
So I'm dialing in to Concentric (a fine ISP, just not an international one) in Manhattan, connecting at a whopping 12,400bps.
So it's back to practicing my speeches, which I give tonight (Tuesday, my time). Wish me (and the audiences) well.
