NASA has been recently working on contingency plans for what to do if Russia can't meet their support requirements for the ISS. It is highly unlikely that they could afford to support it on their own. I would assume that we need to put the ISS into a parking orbit, and take the Soyez back down to earth. What a horrible day for exploration.
