| | Speaking of the long run, I'm about to drive up to Palo Alto for the Supernova conference. Haven't even figured where I'm gonna stay yet. |
Heavy weather
Hard come, easy go
| | This was the camera I used to shoot these and these (including me and the camera in a dual self portrait... scary) and these. Not bad for a 1-megapixel camera ... and it's a helluva camcorder too. |

Doc
I had the predecessor to yours (the PC-100) and produced 3 stories for National Geographic television with it in 2001. It let me do a signature shot, what I called the flycam - hold it at arm's length pointing back at you and you've put yourself in the scene. It drowned this year when I was in a cayuco (dugout canoe) in Guatemala and a third person stepped in. I was shooting at the time so its dying shot is still with me - sickening rock and splash. In its last flicker of life it gave up the cassette, thank God. Now it's the toy of the 3-year boy in the family I was staying with.
I have a bigger camera now, but I miss that little wonder. I feel your pain.
BTW thanks again for making the Glyph blog-of-the-day way back when I'd just gotten started (www.gomaya.com/glyph). Still using the weblog to coordinate a campaign to save the Usumacinta River, border of Mexico and Guatemala, from a dam project. Want to join a flotilla in the jungle in March?
