Lakoff and Johnson
You seem to be pretty keen on George Lakoff. Me too. I don't often meet hardcore computer enthusiasts who take to the idea of the embodied mind. As a writer you're attuned to language and sensitive to metaphor, I guess, which is what first drew me to his work. His collaboration with Mark Johnson entitled "Philosophy in the Flesh: the embodied mind and its challenge to Western thought" is a tremendous volume, in my opinion.
