Late breaking nuts
| | Today, as the webcasting industry, and Rep. Sensenbrenner's office, await word of a royalty deal that at this moment record industry and Internet radio negotiators are trying to hammer out, a new wrench may have been tossed into the works. And this one doesn't come from the RIAA. |
| | Commercial broadcasters, sources say, claim they have been shut out of the negotiations, and may use their weight in Congress to prevent a webcaster/label accord from becoming law. |
Truckin'
| | The big truck comes in a couple hours, then we move to the rest of our stuff to the new house. My ass will move into a connectivity hole until late Saturday, unless I find a way to sneak out here and there. Kind of a long shot. |
| | Meanwhile, I continue packing while listening to public radio on the laptop: WUNC, WEMU and KUOW. We'll be pulling the plug on this home wifi net when the truck comes. |
