Re: Friday, September 6, 2002 Research/Sabo item
1. Check out www.rronline.com read the story about the research that Edison media did on consumer ( you and me folks) use of mp3s and that god awful downloading illegal stuff that's going on..Does appear there is a heck of lot of you that do it does there?
2. Consider this:
From the 9/5/2002 Wall Street Journal:
Popcorn-bags ads are bought for set time periods, and prices vary
seasonally. A national buy for a medium bag for four weeks in June would
have a cost-per-thousand of about $118. The price is steep, considering
that advertisers typically pay about $20 to $30 per thousand viewers for
ads on national TV shows aimed at 18-to-34-year-olds.
Apply to radio: When K-EARTH Los Angeles had 58,000 listeners per quarter
hour, they were getting (occassionally) $1,000 per 60 second spot.
Using the popcorn bag formula, $118 per thousand, the cost per spot would
have been $6,844.
At a TV show rate of $25 per thousand, the radio rate would have been
$1,450 per spot.
A POPCORN BAG?
This should make for a good slide!
