One thing I would like to point out about the whole copywrite issue.
If one looks at any audio CD that you own, you will find that the copyright is owned by the record label. Does this mean that the label is the "creator" of the content or that the artist "sold" the copyright to the label?
My understanding is that that "sale" is intrinsic in the contract that both parties sign when a band "gets signed".
So my point is: "Is the listening public the only entity that record companies are attemting to control and take advatage of?"
