Re: AirPort -> Linksys tips
Yeah, I'll miss having a wi-fi base station that can dial a phone and serve as a router between DHCP wireless and dial-up. But Apple charges a premium for that, and I figure it's a feature I can afford to live without. I also gather from various reports that the Linksys has better range than the Airport, which matters to me where I'll use the thing most of the time: here at home, where I sometimes like to work on the laptop out in the yard. Another deciding factor: the stolen Airport was my third with the same purchase. The first two had big problems. Maybe Apple has fixed those problems with the latest model, but my experience with the old one was a bit of a tie-breaker.
I will miss the form factor, though. It looked cool and slipped nicely into a carry bag.
