We have since WWI, the whole modern world not just USA, been using the existence of OIL in the middle east as an excuse for attempting to control these areas either through colonization, guns and money, or direct threats.. It ain't working! Time for some deep desire of attempting to understand why past actions have not worked and a new plan..
