Classic and Permisions
I'm flying to Seattle in a few hours, and just starting to pack and prepare. Meanwhile the G4/500 seems to have no Classic mode. Not good. (I'm writing this on the G4/800 while installing a new Classic OS on the G4/500, hoping that solves the problem. No idea.) [Later...] Now I get "You do not have sufficient permissions to run Classic from /privateBê. Please correct permissions and restart Classic." I've reset every permission I can find, but I've got a funny feeling about this /privateBê shit. Doc try looking at the permissions on /System/Library/CoreServices/Classic Startup then use file info to check the privileges owner should be system and group should be wheel, if not you can use batChmod to fix it (of course you could use terminal and "sudo chown system:wheel /System/Library/CoreServices/Classic\ Startup" to do the same thing) HTH Sam D There are responses to this message:
