Well, it's a nice take on what actually the entertainment industry's real purpose is. It does raise the question: how much of the loss is due to the audience just not being interested anymore?
I mean, we're not seeing anything terribly original in movies or music anymore. Most of the attention span that he talks about selling is directed toward boring and plebeian crap that we've already seen and heard.
Was it like this for our parents and grandparents as well?
