Re: Thursday, June 6, 2002
Let's take a random survey of bloggers and see if there is any interest in a Bahamas Blog aboard the Royal Caribbean Explorer of the Seas? Doc is of the opinion that this would be a huge event, and since blogging is a non-profit activity, this is what I would suggest: I can set up the Wi-Fi Internet access for just a few thousand dollars, since Royal Caribbean will let me test this on two cruises before I commit to one year of Internet service for a huge fee. We would get the seminar room space allocated for our group, but in order to secure the seminar rooms, we have to book as a single group (Bahamas Blog or something) through my travel agent, Just Cruisin Plus. I would assume the business expense of the Wi-Fi project to launch the first annual Bahamas Blog. There are enough conference rooms for six seminar tracks at one time, and since the Explorer alternates between Eastern and Western Caribbean, I would set this up as a two week seminar series. I would rather do a cool project at this point in my career, or as Tom Peters would say, a WOW project. Would anyone be interested? (Note: I already have dates locked in with Royal Caribbean, and 16 cabins, for late September and Early October, just before Geek Cruises' Linux Lunacy).
