Today is yesterday tomorrow
I seem to have just enough bandwidth to flip the home page, but not enough to bring up today's new window. So I'm writing in yesterday's window.
That's because, even though several others around me are connecting wirelessly from the Gate C10 boarding area here at the airport in Minneapolis, I don't get quite enough signal to do the whole job.
I've been told this is because Apple puts the wi-fi antenna for its Titanium laptops inside the Farraday cage of the Titanium case. Not good. Also not acceptable.
I don't care about voiding the warranty, frankly. I need this thing to be useful.
If anybody knows a hack, or a pointer to one, lemme know.
 See ya later. Hopefully today.

From the Duh Dept:
Okay, on the outside chance that any readers are still at the Strictly Business show in Minneapolis, I left my laptop power adapter plugged into the wall near the front of Room 101G at the convention center. If you could grab it, that would be very cool.

Ragerolling
Rebel without a pause is a terrific Guardian story on Chris Locke. One quote from The Man Himself:
Broadcast - broadband - some people think it's the same thing. Video on demand! It's a jukebox! But we still have this bottom up effect on the net, and the technology to create movies has gotten way cheap, dudes. So you are not going to be limited to Hollywood blockbusters, you're going to get lots of 10 minute videos - Atomfilms - and that's going to erode your market.
In his latest EGR, Chris calls the piece "Best article on my checkered career to date," adding "And he gets what I've been saying right. A welcome and refreshing shift in contemporary journalism."
Tom adds his own personal addendum to the story. It's beautifully done, as usual.

Strictly blogging
I'm here at Strictly Business Expo, finally, sitting in the room where I'll be giving a keynote later today, enjoying the company of the AV guys and the crew from Apple who's helping Curtis Jubiler give his keynote this morning. They have the stage right now and don't need the Net connection provided by the show, so I'm treating myself, along with the whole room, to a little wi-fi, over my own transceiver (which I now haul along pretty much everywhere). Pretty cool.

This slow dial-up shit is killing me. I think the veins in my neck are about to burst.
