Blog out
| | But my fave, as I crash at 1am, is this line: |
| | One of these days I'm going to ask myself, "I wonder what I did with the TV?" |

| | Queue the road music: Truckin. Route 66. Or my fave, Cruisin' Deuces, by Danny Gatton. Amazing instrumental. The first time I heard it on KPIG, I was coming over the hill on Highway 17 into Santa Cruz, and I pounded the steering wheel to the beat from one end of the song to the other. It closes with a perfect one-chord homage to Nelson Eddy's Route 66. (The price for the CD at the other end of the link above is a good one. It's a terrific album. Trust me.) |
| | We made it to Palo Alto in under 5 hours: possibly a new record. Dropped off my wife there, then dropped off the kid in San Carlos, and drove up to The City to meet for drinks with a bunch of friends. Paid a surpise visit to another friend on the way back out of town. And now it's past midnight and I'm at still another friend's place in Los Altos. Tomorrow we pick the kid back up and head down to Morgan Hill for some kind of fund-raising thing with my wife's (very large, extended) family. Then Sunday morning we head back down to Santa Barbara. |
| | So this may be my only chance to blog. Connectivity is kinda thin on this trip. |
| | The wi-fi base station I carry around with me is in another bedroom, dialed into the net. That puts me at the wireless ethernet end of a dial-up connection. Like eating a pizza with a toothpick. |
