Comets & stuff
My latest SuitWatch is up at Linux Journal. This time there's less Chicken Little stuff and more news about The Comet and various technotrash.
More: The comet Ikeya-Zhang and the great Galaxy Andromeda cross in the Northwest sky tonight. If you have any chance to go out and see it, please do. This isn't just a once-in-a-millennium thing. It may never happen again, period.

Rolls, too
Chuck Dolan agrees that Seattle rocks.

Blogfast
Had breakfast with Glenn this morning on his home turf: the pretty little part of Seattle called Fremont. Talked about all kinds of stuff. It was fun.
Glenn chose the place (he's the local), and got there first. As a visitor and a rookie in this part of town, I was a bit lost. So while I was standing there, looking up and down Fremont Place, my cell phone rang in my pocket. It was Glenn, watching me through the restaurant window, though only seeing my reflection in another window. "You looked like you were in another universe or something," he said later. Of course I look that way most of the time.

Everwhat
A few days ago I pointed to CBDTPA is hand-in-glove with new Microsoft patent at Linux & Main. Just wanted to let ya'll know I've been getting some push-back on it. The patent was applied for years ago, the story goes; and it doesn't need to have any connections to anything. In other words, it's a dot; just not necessarily a connected one.

Perfection, cont'd
I shouldn't come to Seattle when the weather is so perfect. What a great town. So many terrific restaurants, stores, coffee houses, parks... So much to do, so many Things Going On...
Don and I went to Meadow Point Park last evening after sunset to watch the comet appear in the twilight. But it didn't get dark enough. We could see it, but just barely. Still, it was a clear and stragely warm evening. There were many campfires on the beach. Just watching the stars come out over the silver waves laping the shore, while the lights came out across Puget sound below the Olympic mountains, and vast boats glided by in the gathering darkness... just: perfect.
