Embedded between the sheets
| | Just finished driving up for the Embedded Systems Conference in San Francisco, where I'll be hunting down Embedded Linux stories for the next two days. Right now I'm crashing at a friend's house, borrowing slow dial up over the house's only phone line; so I need to get off. Gotta sleep anyway. See ya at ESC. |
Ta daaah
| | UNIX Under the Desktop is the OS X review in the new Linux Journal by Brett Simmons and Yours Truly. It just went up. Haven't even read it yet myself. I believe the pic at the bottom is Brent and his cat, which goes by the same name as my kids call me: Papa. |

Have you seen this? From Internet.com:
The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) this morning approved a rule change reclassifying broadband via cable modem as an "information service," freeing the cable industry from regulations that typically are applied to "telecommunications services." The rule change is the first of several championed by FCC Chairman Michael Powell as a fast track to greater broadband deployment.
The reclassification will allow the cable companies, the nation's largest suppliers of broadband service, to avoid previous regulatory obligations, including non-discriminatory interconnection and carriage, fair contribution to the support of universal service and availability of advanced telecommunications to individuals with disabilities.
