The ICF-2010 is indeed a dream machine. Much more portable than the Grundig Satellit 800 (which is more of a luggable). A friend had one that we compared with my GE SuperRadio (II) and it was about even on AM and FM both, and better at everything else, none of which the SR had. As I recall, however, Sony digital portables have always been notoriously bad at resisting overload from strong local signals. Not sure about the ICF-2010, though.
As for synchronous reception, yes, it's there. Switchable too, I think.
What does the ICF-2010 cost, fwiw?
