I agree with you about diaries and journals. In fact, I originally used the word "journal" but changed it because I realized that contrasting "magazines" and "journals" was, at best, misleading. You put it nicely, Doc, as always. Yes, blogs are a new category. They're helping to redraw the line between private and public -- less a matter of changing the line's position and more a matter of making the line surprisingly translucent.
