Blech support 
| | Because I don't want to crawl under the creepiest part of our house to pull Ethernet cabling between the hub and an old Mac in a guest bedroom, I'd like to handle the matter wirelessly. I already have a wireless base station. |
| | So I'm wondering what PCI bus 802.11b cards are available besides the Farallon SkyLINE Wireless. Says here on the SkyLINE page, "The following systems will fail with no video output symptom if a SkyLINE Wireless PCI Card is installed." One of them is mine: "G3 beige tower/333, Machine ID: 510, ROM $77D.45F2" |

I don't think anybody else makes one that has the drivers. Agere's Orinoco product line has Mac drivers for PC not its PCI cards. Asante has Mac PC Cards and other products, but not PCI. You could do an insane thing, which is buy an Orange Micro or similar USB PCI card and then use 2 Mbps Wi-Fi over USB. You probably need to be running at least OS 8.6, maybe 9.1.

I think I'm going to crawl under the house (it's creepiest part, where it gets down to about 1' clearance in the dark) and pull some CAT-5. Hate to do it, but it's the only practical choice.
