Read it and creep
| | Money quotage (literally): |
| | As long as Google has done thier job targeting the ads properly on the page, and it¹s relevant to widgets, Widgets Inc. is going to be happy. Wait a minute, Widgets Inc aren¹t the only one¹s who are happy, Google is happy because they made money off of Widgets Inc, and the splog owner is happy because he made money from Google, in fact almost everybody is happy. |
| | Who¹s not happy Š who¹s the one group of people who got left out of the equation Š BLOGGERS. First off is their anything that some sub set of bloggers isn¹t upset about? I don¹t really understand why they are mad Š unless of course they secretly envy the splog publishers and their revenue. |

| | From conversation with The Kid: |
| | It's a fake cheeze, which has fake bee's wax around it. |
| | The secret is in the pig. |
| | You have to divide and conquer yourself. |
| | As you might guess, I'm back home now. |
Painstream journalism
| | Everybody around town who cared knew that the LA Times had a reporter working on the Santa Barbara (vs.) News-Press story. Well here it is. The best (and bottom) line comes from Sander Vanocur (whom I didn't know was still alive, much less living in Santa Barbara): "It may be," he said, "that this whole matter has gone beyond the gravitational pull of reality." |
| | Ah, but reality doesn't have much pull in Santa Barbara. If it did, the place would be a lot less desirable. |
As badvertised
| | I've been to Boston many times over the years, but not as a driver since the 1970s. I can report, as I sit in the plane before we take off (and while the airport wi-fi actually gets in here, which amazes me), that Boston's reputation as a confuzzing place for non-native drivers remains as well-deserved as ever. |
| | The first problem I encountered -- a really bad accident on I-93 in Quincy -- forced closure of the road northbound. "Seek alternatate routes" the sign said. |
| | Then the exit for Logan through the Calahan Tunnel off 93 was also closed. A detour sign dumped me downtown. No more signs after that. Somehow I found myself on 16 off 93 North of downtown, following barely-readable signs. |
| | Anyway, I made it, thanks mostly to a handheld GPS and a local map I was smart to have picked up. |
| | Door's closing. See ya on the left coast. |
