Tale of Whoa
Strumpette is gone, replaced by a This Account Has Been Suspended banner in large Verdana boldface, served from suspended.page at Furthermore.com, which itself now redirects to this demo here, which is a subdirectory of WebPublishing, a "new model for news publishing", which is what it said about itself back when Technorati still counted only 7.8 million blogs (which was what, last Thursday?).
Anyway, the Fisking Ace awards go to Mike Krempasky (here, here and here), Mike Driehorst (here) and Robert French at Auburn Media (here). Robert also mentions a small find of my own here. Caution: I have no idea if the Brian Connolly mentioned at that link is the same as the one Mike Krempasky found at the end of Strumpette's crumb trail here, or the one who posted denials in Mike Krempasky's comments here, and reportedly did the same for Robert here.
In any case, Strumpette is gone. Sic transit lupa.
The lesson: Don't troll as a faux blogger through a park where the long tail is also a cat'o'nine.
[Later...] Okay, now it's 2:03pm Pacific, and Stumpette is back up. Here's the latest post. Make of it what you will. I gotta go work.

Putting the I in identity
 IIW 2006
Phil Windley has announced the next Internet Identity Workshop, which will run from May 1-3 at the Computer History Museum in Mountain View, CA. (Perhaps better known as SGI's old HQ.)
The workshop is about moving forward on the various user-centric identity efforts that have begun to blossom and converge over the past year. Yadis, for example, is a joint effort that began at the last workshop.
The fees are low, as conferences go, and intended to cover expenses for space, food and drink. There's space for 200 participants. Since the last workshop sold out, it would be a good idea to register as early as possible for this one.

How to drive drivers crazy, illustrated
Intention Economy Hell: Renting a Car is a series of annotated screen shots in a photo set at Flickr. It chronicles my frustrating (yet typical) "user experience" with the hellish UIs and lame CMSes that feign "customer service" at car rental agencies.
 Start here.
If Independent Identity or The Intention Economy were working, we wouldn't have this crap.
I'll explain more in tomorrow's SuitWatch, at Linux Journal.

Fighting For Freedom
Jeff Jarvis tells the FCC to eat shit and die.

Seems it's wrong to copy your own copyrighted stuff
Bob Slade via Bruce Sterling: The crackdown (and crankdown) on copyright and copying is making it hard for a lot of us who are relying on our own research and writing.
