| | Wouldn't publishers want something between #s 2 and 3? Like, some kind of editorial process that's bound to filter out lots of blogs? |
| | Maybe it's there. If it is, the pitch is misleading. If it isn't, the system is misled. |
| | The whole thing looks too mediated and sales-y to me. What newspapers really need is unmediated relationships with bloggers who serve as stringers and reporters. There is a new ecosystem of news out there, in which bloggers will eventually comprise the nerve system by which the newspapers reach out, connect with, and report to their communities. Adapting to that ecosystem will require direct interaction by the papers. Not content plays by intermediaries. |
Bill vs. Dick
| | On the one head, Bill Moyers meditates at length on Saving Democracy, starting with deep thinking about What The Cheney Shooting Means: At the heart of this story is a metaphor of power... Watching these people work is a study of the inner circle at the top of American politics. |
| | On the first go I bagged eight quail and one Harry. On the second I bagged all ten quail and no Harrys. Of course, if I'd had as much practice as the Vice President, you'd think I'd do even better at sparing Harry, but it seems Dick and I share the same failing. |
| | Thanks to Micah for pointage to the former, which really is a good piece, and a recommended read. After you're done playing Dick, of course. |
