Affimative distraction
| | So I picked a bad day to hardly blog a damn thing. |
| | Between Mashup Camp and meetings, I just didn't have the time. Besides, I've been eager to get home. In fact, I'm writing this from a Starbucks in Salinas, headed back South. (With Me & Bobby McGee running in my brain, since it's the only song I know that mentions the town.) |
| | Anyway, Technorati picked today as the day to launch its favorites feature, and leaned on me as a friend of the company to serve as an example. That's what I get for showing up there this morning. (When Derek Powazek pulled me into a room with sunlight to snap the picture that accompanies my faves thingie.) |
| | When that happened I didn't have any favorites listed yet. So, in a hurry, between the end of Mashup Camp and dinner with fellow campers at Ming's, I put together a quick and unavoidably incomplete list. |
| | An irony here is that my primary blogging fodder sources are not favorite blogs but searches for topics that interest me at a given time. Like, metasystem, mashup camp... they change. |
| | Anyway, I'll be fooling with the service, and rotating new favorites into the list as I discover (or rediscover) them. |
| | Now I'll grab that doppio on ice and hit the road. (After I burn off an mp3 CD of podcasts to stick in the dash of my rental Ford Fusion... nice car, by the way.) |
| | [Later...] Jeneane notes some, um, features, and Derek, the prime designer behind Favorites, adds, |
| | It's the product of a lot of hard work by one of the most talented teams I've ever had the pleasure of working with. It's a 1.0, there's lots of room for improvement (and a four phase growth plan saved on a wiki somewhere), but it's planted like a seed, and it can only grow from here. |
