Shooting paradise
| | Last night I realized that I'm coming toward the end of November without having elevated picture uploads to my my 2Gb ceiling at Flickr. So, toward that end, I added the following to the 4,000+ pile of pix in my Flickr collection |
| | - 25 shots from the Pt. Magu Airshow, which took place on a gloomy, but not rainy, October 23rd. The Blue Angels were there, but the sky was overcast at just 1000 feet, so they didn't perform. Still, I got some nice shots of an F-18 streaking by at exactly the speed of sound, which creates very cool visual (as well as sonic) effects.
- A five-mile beachwalk we took yesterday, from East Beach to the end of the harbor breakwater. The first shot is of a fossil-packed rock that's also the subject of an earlier (pre-Flickr) beachwalk below the extremely interesting (as well as beautiful) shale cliffs of Leadbetter beach, just east of the Harbor. Also featured are the Arlington West memorial to American soldiers who have given their lives in Iraq. New this Sunday was a remarkably good (and moving) sand sculpture. There are also a couple views up toward the hillside where we live.
- A bunch more photos to the current Sunrises and Sunsets series I've been shooting this month. The shot at the top is through our front door, back toward the harbor where we took the walk just a couple hours earlier. Not sure why, but the Sun has been making exceptionally theatrical entrances and exits this month

| | I know pictures like these bore some people, but I gotta tell ya... when you're living in paradise, it's pretty hard to resist shooting the things and, thanks to the likes of Flickr, almost too easy to share them. |
