Garaged
| | Since some of you are asking, mechanics are busy fixing stuff in IT Garage. So it's down for as short a time as we can manage. Better on a weekend than a weekday, I figure. |
| | [Later...] Okay, it's fixed. So are the links on this page, which I just discovered were screwed up by yours truly. Also fixed now. |
Back and froth
| | Got home in one piece. The flight from Boston to L.A. was more than six hours, and somehow left me with one of the worst headaches I've had in years. Odd. The seat wasn't bad. Maybe I sustained a sleeping injury or something. |
| | Then the short flight to Santa Barbara (in an Embraer Brasilia) was rather bumpy, as we punched through squall clouds flanking thunderheads to the north (unusual for Southern California). I'm not usually bothered by bouncy flying, but this was one of those times I wished I'd been driving. |
| | Whatever, I'm home. It's great to be back. Wish I could have spent more time hanging out with the locals in Boston, though. |
| | One bonus last night was drinks and a plate of fromage with Britt Blaser, Roger Desai and Taran Rampersad, after the Thursday night thing (below). |
| | By the way, Andy Carvin has a podcast of the first Digital Divide Network meetup in Boston. I was there before I was at the Thursday thing, and the thing after that with Britt, et. al. Busy evening. |
Coasting, cont'd
| | Crashed the Berkman Thursday meeting last night, where ABC's Nightline (I think it was) pointed a video camera and boom microphone around the room. Also had dinner with the crowd, which was great fun. |
| | Right now I'm sitting at Logan, waiting to board my flight home. I'd say more (and put up pix from last night); but this is a slow bluetooth connection and I'm practicing for sleep on the plane. |
| | Bummed that the wi-fi is down here at the airport; but, to the credit of the Comcast, they do answer the support line, and at least say they'll try to solve the problem. |
