Flying higher
| | Andrew Leyden of PenguinRadio just turned me on SeatGuru.com, which rates seats on all the planes of many major airlines. |
| | We're sitting on 11D, E and F on a United 757 in a few minutes. I see it's just in front of the wing in Economy Plus. Since the kid and I like window seats and my wife likes the aisle, it's a good arrangement for us. (By the way, I generally prefer the North side of the plane, so we're not blinded by the Sun that's what we got in this case.) |
Carpet stain
| | On the plus side, United Arilines now offers wi-fi access at most (perhaps now all) of its Red Carpet Clubs. (I'd prefer if it were free, like local phone calls, but I'm glad my T-Mobile account gets me on. I'm using it now.) |
| | On the minus side, the Red Carpet Club folks have replaced their aging instant-espresso (also mocha, cappuccino, etc.) machines with new ones that dispense a beverage called "cappuccino," but instead is something sweet and undrinkable, in the manner of the hot flavored syrup that comes out of the other spigots on the machine, labeled "hot chocolate," "swiss mocha," "english toffee" and "french vanilla." You'd think, with lines of flyers at Starbucks outside the door, that they'd get a clue. |
Back out
