A card still in the game
| | Back when I was a kid, and a Brooklyn Dodgers fan (yes, I'm that old), I had the hardest time getting baseball cards with my favorite players: Duke Snyder, Peewee Reese, Gil Hodges, Carl Erskine... When I finally got a Dodger card, it was Don Zimmer. |
| | Turns out Zimmer was a durable cuss. Nice to see the guy still has game. |
Flying wide
| | Foo Camp was, some said, like an early hackers' conference full of energy and fun, of polyhedral pegs gathered far from the usual holes. Great to have been there, and in such smart and creative company. |
| | Missed my plane out of SFO, but I enjoyed the company (David and Esther) on the long ride down from Sebastapol; and the view was a treat in spite of the traffic. And the United people found a way to get me to Palm Springs by midnight, which is cool. Gives me a chance to sit in L.A. for a bit and get some work done. The connectivity there might be better there than in the hotel anyway. (I just called and found they have high speed Internet in the rooms. Cool.) |
| | Okay, they're boarding the plane. See ya later. |
| | [Later...] Gorgeous flight to LAX in the sunset. Here are two shots of The City with the plane's right engine illuminated by the setting sun. They close Roll 3 of the Foo Camp gallery, which I just put up from here in Terminal 7 at LAX. |

| | Freeintermediation is everything, somebody didn't say the other day. Somehow that half-a-thought comes to mind when I gander MetaClient's latest, RSS to WML converter. |
| | If your web site has an RSS feed, you can make it available to mobile phones and PDA's by converting it to WML (Wireless Markup Language) format. MetaClient.com is providing a free web-based tool for this purpose. Our RSS to WML coverter will convert your RSS document into a WML site, and all you have to do is put it on your web site. |
| | This RSS stuff gets in the middle of everything. |
| | Okay, it's still yesterday to me. I'm crashing. |
I didn't think they made it to one
