Wordy error notices of death
| | I just went to register a product at the Creative site, and got this: |
| | Microsoft VBScript runtime error '800a01a8' Object required: 'cmdl' /register/OCXnp.asp, line 212 |
| | And just yesterday I failed to buy a product at Buy.com because it insisted that my zip code was an error, and offered a popout menu with a pile of other nearby zip codes, all wrong: |
| | So I didn't complete the purchase. And I doubt I'll be back. |
Closing an open Case
| | There are ponies to ride out of the disaster that is AOL. But only Steve Case is qualified to ride them. They can get rid of the man, but AOL will always be his company. |
| | And, as Dave says, like Columbo, he makes it easy for you to underestimate him. |
With hardly a trace
| | Read in local paper this morning that Suzy Parker, who lived here in town, had died. This report says she was 69. The paper said she was 70. Neither story said anything about the cause. (Which I read as: Alzheimers. But I could be wrong.) |
| | I'm amazed at how hard it is to find any good pictures of the woman who was by far the most familiar fashion face in the Fifties. She was gorgeous and iconic. Today there are dozens of supermodels. Back then there was just one. |
Villianwhyzing
| | Eric Norlin: The Hero is ALWAYS closely related to the Villain. |
Blogging in tongue
| | Unrelated? Again, I have no idea. Clearly, the man is not well. I feel bad for the guy. I suppose a virtue or two is involved there. |
