Figgers: they're from Colorado
Gonzo lawyers, looks like to me. Courtesy of Buzz.
(Okay, I just fell asleep in the chair here. I'll get back on tomorrow when I should be able to blog live from the foor at JabberConf after my keynote, of course. Some other folks will have to blog that one.)
Let freedom cling
Here's the latest bad news from the U.K., where I'll be in a couple of days. Thanks to Kevin for the link.
TGIM
Howard Greenstein has discovered a usage flaw for a consulting firm that renamed itself Monday.
Ich bin ein Münchener
Well, I made it. Got in at 5pm and immediately joined the crowd heading over to the big Bierhaus, where we pounded brews and ate sausages, saurkraut and the rest of it. Then we walked around town for a bit. Beautiful place.
Seemed to take forever to get here. Three planes, two busses, a long train ride... plus a very long wait at customs at Heathrow, where I had to pick up my bags and change airlines and terminals.
I took three years of German in high school, but one of them I had to take twice and I gave them all back when I was done. Thirty-seven years later, I finally get to Germany.
Amazingly, I'm not all that bad. Several people have complimented my pronunciation. So did the professor who did my language orals in college. She said she had never met anyboy who could pronounce it better whle understanding it less. Anyway, knowing a little German helps, because not quite everybody speaks English.
My only complaint so far is about Lufthansa. I've flown them twice in my life, and both times they bashed the crap out of my baggage. It wasn't as bad this time. But there are what appear to be tire marks on the top of my bag (a duffel with wheels), and my suit's wooden coathanger is destroyed. I haven't had time to check anything else. Last time all the electronics in a bag were completely flattened.
Okay, now to email. I just pulled down 199 of them here over the hotel lobby's lobby wi-fi, which can only use for the next hour or so, if I hold up.
