Tech support appeal
I am told one can recover files from erased flash cards. I'm hoping that's the case, and it's not too difficult, since I went and erased every photo I took today in Glacier Bay with my Sony PC-110 camcorder, which stores stills on a 128Mb Memory Stick flash card. Using Norton doesn't work, since Norton, unlike OS X (or 9) doesn't recognize the flash card as a drive.
Anyway, if you've got some ideas, lemme know.
[Later...] I've downloaded an OS X beta of PhotoRescue, and it seems to have recovered nearly all the files. I can see them in fact, I just took a screen shot of one thumbnail: it's the pic to the left, of Adam Engst and Glenn Fleischmann but I can't seem to find a way to save them. Alas "Demo version will not save results." But it's a beta demo. This looks like a real good program, but not being able to use it is kinda frustating. Maybe I'm missing something. I just wrote to the PhotoRescue people asking for help. We'll see what happens. Here's hoping...
More later
Did Skagway yesterday. The sky cleared right after we arrived. Somebody explained that a clear patch of blue is locally called a "sucker hole." But it didn't suck, all day. It was mountain & cloud theater all day long.
No time to elaborate. Today we're in Glacier Bay, where it's overcast and gloomy, but
