Like picking your nose with chopsticks. That's not the right metaphor, but I kind of like the imagery it evokes. Mostly I'm amazed at how accustomed I've become, after three days, to writing in Radio Userland. It's a struggle to be writing, as I am now, on someboby else's machine (a 6-year old 100MHz Mac), back in Edit This Page mode in the browser. Don't get me wrong. It's nice that it works at all. But I miss my new instrument.
Not that I have much time this weekend anyway. My sister arrived today, and we had a party tonight. A main topic of conversation was the stereo in our apartment, which consists of a Nomad Jukebox playing MP3s through a $39.95 speaker system from Cambridge Soundworks (also HiFi.com). Pretty amazing sound, considering. The Jukebox contains a large hunk of my record collection, about a thousand tracks in all. The user interface is strange, but I've seen a lot worse. And I see that HiFi.com has it on sale. Check it out. I don't endorse many products, but this is a worthy one.
