A Darwin test for PR
Just laughed my rocks off at some fun Tom Matrullo had at the expense of a clueless PR agency.
No balony
My friend Dean Landsman has a new blog. He's still shaking it down, but it's starting to look pretty darn good.
I hope he'll forgive me for busting his chops about not getting it up, but I really wanted to point to his Sony saga, which he had been sharing by email.
In my own experience, Sony is archtypical of industrial giants that do everything they can to keep "consumers" from acting like customers. They are, after all, in the consumer electronics business. Pretty much invented it, actually.
Sony, say hi to Dean. And welcome to consumer-free reality.
Anyway, watch Deanland. Dean is one of my favorite thinkers on the subject of radio. We didn't know each other when we both worked in the business in North Carolina, back in the '70s. But somehow he actually remembers my old radio persona (and source of my nickname): Doctor Dave.
One of these months I'll scan and/or rip some of the old Doctor Dave stuff and put it online. Should be fun. Maybe Dean'll do the same with some of his old stuff.
