Minding business
When we were talking at the SOHO Summit a couple days ago, Christine Boehlke of Phase Two shared her misgivings about all the "2" categories -- B2B, B2C, etc. Her problem was with the preposition. People don't do business to other people. They do business with them. So we came up with PWP: people with people. Hard to categorize, but a much better label for how business really works.
Fail, Abort, Retry
As if tearing my shoulder wasn't bad enough, I spent Monday night throwing up and developing a fever. It got no better Tuesday morning. By the time we were halfway to LAX, it was clear that flying to Minnesota was a bad idea. Suddenly Joyce said "Hey, Colette's driving home today from Irvine. Maybe she hasn't left yet." (Colette is my daughter, a graduate student at UC-Irvine.) In fact, she was just one exit away. We called and sure enough, she had just finished packing and was about to take off. So we bagged the trip and burdened her with a sick old man. Twelve hours, 430 miles and ten stops later, we arrived home. I feel better today, but totally snowed under by hundreds of emails and dozens of phone messages. Arg.
My apologies if any of those emails or messages are yours. We'll get to them.
