Recompilations
A bunch of changes happening at Linux Journal these days. Last Friday Margie Richardson, our long-time Editor in Chief, resigned. I've had a lot of editors over the years, but none more understanding, appreciative and encouraging than Margie. She was, and remains, loved by her readers and a great friend. We'll miss her.
This Wednesday, however, another friend signed on as our new Senior Technical Editor. If Don Marti writes half as much news as he makes, we'll be in good shape.
Consider just these few of Don's fingerprints on the news pages:
- Windows Refund Day
- Burn All GIFs Day, and the .org that keeps the fire burning
- The DCMA protest at Stanford a few days ago
- The Operating System Sucks-Rules-O-Meter
To name too few. I'd put the links in and list more if I had the time. But first I want to call attention to my interview with an old friend, the man behind Linux Journal itself, Phil Hughes.
I'm still learning a lot from all these people.
Unexpected Clues
Search for "well, let's see what you can find" at Google and guess what comes up? Go a head and hit the "I'm feeling lucky" button (Google's search feature that returns exactly one result).
Because they already know that
"We know that communication is a problem, but the company is not going to discuss it with the employees," says a switching supervisor at AT&T's Long Lines Division. This and other pointy-haired pronouncements are compiled at the unofficial Dilbert Quotes page.
