Twists: I just poaching some eggs a few minutes ago when I heard on NPR that severe thunderstorms rolled through Piedmont North Carolina this morning. I had a creepy feeling that this one hit close to home. It did. With tornadoes.
Mom just called a few minutes ago. She stood at her front door while the huge ash tree that had been leaning over her house was torn to shreds, along with half the trees in the woody yards around her. Half the oak next door is in her yard. But she's intact and so is the house. Amazing.
